Executive Team

Our Executive Team establishes and implements our strategy, oversees our business and identifies operating and financial performance targets. Our Team is made up of a diverse group of professionals with experience in all facets of mining operations and support functions. The team is diverse in gender, with 43% female representation, and also in geography, coming from various countries with work experience from all around the world.

  • Jody Kuzenko, LLB, ICD.D

    President & Chief Executive Officer

    Jody Kuzenko was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of Torex Gold in June 2020, having previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer since joining the Company in October 2018. She is a senior mining executive with over 20 years of operational and business experience, mainly acquired at Vale (formerly Inco). After the first four years at Inco as Chief Legal Officer, Jody moved to the operational side of the business where she held roles of increasing responsibility in operations management. She has a proven record of execution and leadership in many areas of mining operations including refining, strategy, safety, health and environment, energy and utilities, and community, labour and government relations. Jody holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario, an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, and is a Certified Director from the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program.

    Jody is a founding Advisory Board member of the Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH) at Laurentian University and serves as a Director of Torex Gold and the World Gold Council. Previous Board experience includes the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, Association of Major Power Consumers of Ontario and Industrial Gas Users Association, Canada. In 2020, she was named one of the ‘Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining’ by Women in Mining UK as well as one of the ‘2020 Names to Know’ by CIM Magazine.

  • Andrew Snowden, CPA, CA

    Chief Financial Officer

    Andrew Snowden joined Torex Gold as CFO in January 2021. He is an accomplished finance executive with more than 20 years of international corporate experience. Before joining Torex, Mr. Snowden served as Senior Vice President and CFO at Sherritt International Corporation, a multinational mining company with its primary operations in North America and the Caribbean. There he provided leadership in all areas of business and financial management including strategic planning, performance measurement, debt and equity financing, complex accounting, and corporate development.

    Prior to joining Sherritt in 2012, Mr. Snowden gained 12 years of experience at Ernst & Young in the UK, Australia, and Canada. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), a member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Durham in England.

  • Mary D. Batoff, LLB

    General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

    Ms. Batoff has over 25 years of experience with publicly traded companies in the mining and exploration sector. Her experience includes successfully leading multi-jurisdictional, debt, equity and restructuring transactions and providing advice and counsel to managers of capital construction projects and operations. Prior to joining Torex in 2014, Ms. Batoff served in executive positions with First Uranium Corporation, a gold and uranium company, from 2007 to 2013. She also served as Vice President, Legal and Secretary for North American Palladium and as legal counsel and corporate secretary for TSX listed gold and base metal mining companies.

    Ms. Batoff is a member of the Ontario Bar and she holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University.

  • Angie Robson, MBA

    Senior Vice President, Human Resources, ESG & Communications

    Ms. Robson has more than 20 years of corporate affairs, communications, government and community relations experience with a specialized focus in the mining industry. She joined the Torex team in 2020 after spending 15 years at Vale (formerly Inco) in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently leading Corporate Affairs, Communications and Sustainability for the Company’s North Atlantic Operations and Asian Refineries. Through her career, Ms. Robson has built a strong proficiency in issues management and is credited with building productive relationships with a broad range of audiences including employees, governments, indigenous communities and community stakeholders. Prior to joining Vale in 2005, Angie served as the Chief Communications Advisor to the Ontario Minister of Energy and has also worked for major corporate affairs agencies including Hill & Knowlton Canada and Navigator Limited.

    Ms. Robson holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University and an MBA from McGill University. She has been heavily involved in community boards and committees over the years, and in 2011 was honoured with a ‘Top 40 Under Forty’ award from Northern Ontario Business for her contributions.

  • Faysal Rodriguez

    Senior Vice President, Mexico

    Mr. Rodriguez was appointed Vice President Mexico in June 2020, having previously held the role of General Manager of the El Limón Guajes (ELG) Mine Complex since 2018. As General Manager of ELG, Mr. Rodriguez successfully led the team in Mexico to achieve record safety and production results.

    Mr. Rodriguez grew up in Sinaloa, Mexico and has gained more than 20 years of mining experience. His career started as a municipal councilor and he has since held senior roles for companies including Glamis Gold, Agnico Eagle, Nyrstar, Geologix Explorations and Primero Mining in areas including Mexico, Honduras and Chile. He has a proven track record of leadership within several different facets of the industry including management, operations, finance, external relations, health and safety and human resources. Mr. Rodriguez holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa.

  • Dan Rollins, CFA

    Senior Vice President, Corporate Development & Investor Relations

    Mr. Rollins has over 15 years of metals and mining industry related experience with more than 10 years of experience as a sell-side equity research analyst. Mr. Rollins joined the Torex team in 2019 from RBC Capital Markets, where he provided investment research on precious metal companies and the broader precious metal sector to institutional investors. Prior to RBC Capital Markets, Mr. Rollins was employed in a similar role by UBS Securities Canada. Mr. Rollins started his career at Noranda/Falconbridge where he was involved in the sale of refined zinc metal.

    Mr. Rollins holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto.

  • Dave Stefanuto, P. Eng.

    Executive Vice President, Technical Services & Capital Projects

    Dave Stefanuto joined Torex Gold in September 2021. He is an experienced executive in project execution and engineering with more than 25 years of experience working in both surface and underground mining operations.

    Prior to joining Torex, Dave spent most of his career at Vale Canada Limited (formerly Inco Limited), most recently as Director, North Atlantic Projects. During his tenure at Vale, Dave led the Vale Canada Technical Excellence service centres in Hydrometallurgy, Pyrometallurgy, Mining Technology, Mineral Processing and Reserve/Resource groups. Dave provided leadership in the completion of a number of major Canadian growth and sustaining projects ranging in cost between $30M to more than $2B, including the Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion Project in Labrador and the Clean AER (Atmospheric Emissions Reduction) Project in Sudbury.

    Dave has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Centre of Excellence and Mining Innovation (CEMI). He is a professional engineer and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
